About us

WHO ARE WE?

We are a local fellowship of Christians who belong together as a family church, part of God’s worldwide family. About 300 people of all ages and backgrounds meet at RBC each Sunday. We are an inclusive church with full wheelchair access and have a large and lively children’s and youth programme.

We gather to worship God on Sundays and also throughout the week in various small groups. See some of the range of activities and groups under Our Ministries and have a look at our Events Calendar.

Our aim is to follow Jesus, to see a community centred on Him, and help others to know him.

Our Mission?

RBC’s mission statement helps us define our priorities and direction as a church:

Building a vibrant, Christ-centred community with a vision for extending His Kingdom.

To achieve this we aim to be in a growing relationship with God, be in communion with each other and reach out to our community and world.

Our beliefs?

At the core of all we believe and do is Jesus. We believe that he transforms lives, gives hope to all and shows us how we can live our best lives with him. If you’d like to know more about Jesus we’d love to invite you to come and join us.

Our aim is to follow Jesus, and be a church centred on Him that helps others to know him.

We believe:

·       That Jesus is the Son of God the Father, and by the Holy Spirit, we can all encounter him and know his presence with us today.

·       The Bible is God’s Word and through it we can encounter Jesus and his will for our lives.

·       No one has lived a perfect life and we have all sinned and fallen short of God’s best for us. But because of Jesus we can find forgiveness, freedom and new hope because he died for us on the cross.

·       Not only did Jesus die but he rose again, giving us hope beyond death.

·       By the power of the Holy Spirit our lives can be changed that we might be more like Jesus as we live as his disciples.

·       The church is the body of Christ, to which all Christians belong. The local church is a part of this.

·       One day Christ will return and we will all see him face-to-face and give an account of our lives.

·       As a Baptist church we are part of the Baptist Union of Great Briton and we subscribe to the Baptist Union's Declaration of Principle.

It’s not possible to include everything here about us and the Christian faith, but we hope these give you some idea of where we stand and what are our main priorities. Feel free to get in touch to find out more!
