Here are some Frequently Asked Questions about this year’s holiday club “Miraculous Mission” at Ruislip Baptist Church. We hope that you find answers to your questions here but if not please just contact us and we will be happy to talk things through.

  1. Is Miraculous Mission running at the same time as usual?
This year we have extended the times slightly to support parents. The mornings run from 9:30-12:30 and the evenings from 6:30-7:45pm. There will be a staggered exit to support social distancing so in the mornings the RED and BLUE teams will finish slightly earlier at 12:20pm; in the evenings the YELLOW and GREEN teams will finish slightly early at 7:35pm.

  2. What COVID precautions will be in place?
At RBC we take the health and wellbeing of the children in our care, and that of our staff, extremely seriously. We have been working hard to implement changes to our programme to allow us to operate safely within the current Public Health England parameters, whilst still ensuring the children in our care have as much FUN as possible. Some of the Covid-Secure measures we have implemented include:

    1. Although the club is running after 19th July we have decided to ensure we minimise contacts for each child. Each child will be allocated to a small group of approx 6 eg RED 3 which will be their ‘bubble’. They will stay in this ‘bubble’ for their time in the main event and for all activities. You can indicate which other children you would like to be in a group with and we will do our best to accommodate. We will try to keep household groups or school groups together. These groups will be kept distanced from other groups at all times.

    2. There will be separate entrances for each team and there will be no mixing between teams.

    3. Parents will be asked to maintain strict 2-meter social distancing at all times and there will be a staggered departure.

    4. All children will be asked to sanitise their hands regularly throughout the club.

    5. The same leader will be sat with each group every day as far as possible.

    6. All leaders will take LFT before they help at the club and/or will be double vaccinated. They will all wear face coverings when within 2m of others unless exempt.

    7. Parents will all be asked to ensure that children with any symptoms that could be COVID do not attend the club.

    8. Activity rooms and other environments will be well ventilated and organised so we can maintain space between seats.

    9. Strict cleaning protocols will be carried out at regular intervals.

  3. Will children still get to do all the activities?
We have adapted the activities to ensure all the children still have a fantastic time whilst keeping everyone safe.  The activities this year will be: craft, treasure hunt (outdoors), spy challenge, spy hideout model making.  These activities will be completed in the same groups.

  4. What does my child need to bring?
We suggest a water bottle with their name on, although a juice box and sealed biscuit will be provided. They should also bring a coat if the weather is inclement as the treasure hunt activity will take place outside. Everything else will be provided.

  5. Do I have to book for my child in advance?
Yes this year registration will close on Thursday 21st July and we will NOT take any registrations after that date.  This is so we can organise the seating in the main venue and activities safely.

  6. How will drop off and pick up work?
If you are in the RED or GREEN team please come to the main front doors to drop off your child.  No parents will be allowed inside.  Those in the BLUE team will enter via the sidewalk entrance.  The YELLOW team will enter through the back door.  Children will exit via the same door they entered. There will be a staggered exit to support social distancing so in the mornings the RED and BLUE teams will finish slightly earlier at 12:20pm; in the evenings the YELLOW and GREEN teams will finish slightly early at 7:35pm. We will ask parents not to congregate and to maintain social distancing at all times.
